Formed in 2012 by Chris Parsons, Eboracum Baroque (www.eboracumbaroque.co.uk) are a group of young, dynamic freelance musicians who aim to bring baroque music as far and as wide possible, reaching new audiences. They have been described as ‘Spectacular’ by Classic FM.

In September 2021, Eboracum Baroque headed over to the beautiful Burghley House in Stamford to film a series of performances for their ‘Burghley Sessions’ concert series, which will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook at 7:30pm on Saturday 22nd January. The concert was filmed in the Great Hall of Burghley house where it was documented that concerts took place there in the 18th Century.

The music featured in this online concert is all taken from the remarkable collection at Burghley House which was compiled by the Earl of Exeter in the 17th and 18th centuries and includes arias by Handel from Semele and Tamerlano, instrumental music by Corelli and a virtuosic Recorder concerto by Vivaldi.
